Sober Way Privacy Policy

Sober Way ("the Service") is provided by wading.net ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains how we handle information when you use the app, website, and related services.

1. Information we handle

Depending on the features you use, we may handle:

• Account information such as email address, user ID, nickname, and authentication records;
• Profile information such as age, gender, height, and weight when you choose to provide it;
• Journey records such as sober, craving, or drinking states, time, drink type, volume, and cost;
• Craving-tool and alternatives-library interactions, including completed wave sessions and likes;
• Reminder settings, theme preferences, language, time zone, and app settings;
• Device, app version, operating system, diagnostic, security, and request information;
• Messages and information you send when contacting support.

We do not require you to provide profile or journey information that is not necessary for a feature you choose to use.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and operate the Service, save and display your journey, calculate statistics and recovery milestones, send reminders you configure, provide account and support functions, protect the Service, diagnose failures, and improve reliability. We may also use information where required by law or to prevent fraud and abuse.

The Service may calculate estimates and educational milestones from the information you enter. These are not medical diagnoses, treatment, or guarantees of health outcomes.

3. Storage and sharing

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security. Account and synchronized service data may be processed by our service providers to host, authenticate, deliver notifications, monitor failures, operate the Service, and review public submissions for safety. When you choose to publish a submission, the submission text and language information needed for review may be sent to OpenAI's moderation API. OpenAI is an independent third party and processes received data under its applicable privacy policy and API or services agreement. Processing and retention may occur outside your region and may change under OpenAI's policies or legal requirements. We do not sell your journey or health-related information for advertising.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of service assets. We do not make public posts from your records without your action.

4. Purchases

The app may be offered as a one-time purchase for 680 JPY. Payment and transaction records are processed by the relevant app store. We receive only the information necessary to verify access, comply with law, and handle support. App-store refund rules apply to purchases made through that store.

5. Your choices

You can review or correct available account information, adjust reminders and permissions, stop notifications, and request account deletion through the app or by contacting us. Deleting an account may permanently remove synchronized records. Some information may be retained where required by law or needed for security and accounting.

6. Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the Service or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted with its effective date.
